If you ever find yourself in Madrid (fingers crossed in the not-so-distant future!), make sure you stop by at El Riojano. It was founded in 1855 by Dámaso de la Maza, the personal pâtissier to the Queen of Spain! Inside you’ll find a treasure trove of sweet treats and baked goods, a true feast for all the senses! One of their specialities and one of our favourite Spanish treats is Mantecados. These melt in your mouth, crumbly cakes are so soft and light, whatever I write here cannot do them justice!
